Chapter Seven

“Shit…” Sighing, Nicolas scrubbed a hand over his face and sat up in bed.

Rolling over, Christina kissed her way up his naked back and bit his shoulder. “Are you okay? Did you have a bad dream?”

Shaking his head, he wrapped his arms around her and lay back down, pulling her on top of his chest. “I was in her dreams. I don’t know how but I was in Sasha’s dreams. She’s a beautiful child, isn’t she?”

She nodded against his chest. “She looks so much like her mama but there are traces of her papa in her too.”

Nicolas had been stroking her long hair, but his hand stilled at her words. “Her papa? She doesn’t resemble Caleb at all.”

Propping her chin on her hands she looked up at him. “Not Caleb, Tréan. She calls him papa.”

Groaning, he covered his eyes with his free arm and laughed low in his chest. “Well, that explains why I couldn’t get him to tell me where they were staying.”

Sitting up fully, she lifted his arm away and stared down into his ice blue eyes. “You talked to him, through her?”

Nodding, he leaned up on an elbow. “Yeah but I fucked up as soon as I spoke. I called him daddy.”

With an aggravated sigh, she flung herself backwards on the bed. “Damn it! It’s all my fault, I should’ve told you everything about them, but it never occurred to me that you’d be able to contact her.”

Nicolas moved over the top of her and looked down into her eyes. Kissing her pouting lips, he moved his hips in a suggestive gesture. “Mmmmm, how about we finish this conversation in a little bit.”

“Nicolas, be serious.” Swatting his arm, she tried to roll out from under him.

“Oh baby, I’m very serious.” Reaching between their bodies, he touched her and smiled before guiding himself to her. “Can’t you feel how serious I am?”

“You are an evil, evil man Nicolas Pantar.” Running her hands up his muscled sides, she wrapped her arms around his neck and fell into his steady rhythm.
